Methodologies of the Prophets (AS) is an advanced interdisciplinary course that examines the Prophetic mission as a comprehensive framework for faith, intellectual development, moral reform, leadership, governance, social transformation, and civilizational progress. Moving beyond a purely historical reading of Prophetic narratives, the course critically analyzes the methodologies adopted by the Prophets (AS) in Dawah, spiritual purification, psychological training, political engagement, economic ethics, institutional development, conflict resolution, and community leadership.
A distinctive dimension of the course is its study of the departmental structure of Islam, derived from the Qur’anic framework of revelation, purification, education, wisdom, governance, and organized social responsibility. This structure is explored as an integrated model for understanding how Islamic principles translate into functional institutions and how Prophetic methodologies can inform contemporary responses to intellectual, psychological, educational, economic, political, technological, and governance-related challenges.
The course further investigates the continuity of the Prophetic mission through the Sahabah (RA), the Khulafa-e-Rashideen, and subsequent institutional developments in Muslim history, while encouraging comparative, analytical, and evidence-based engagement with Qur’anic narratives. By connecting classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary interdisciplinary perspectives, the course enables learners to understand Prophetic methodology not only as a historical legacy, but as a dynamic framework for ethical leadership, institutional reform, societal development, and meaningful engagement with the complexities of the modern world.
